K-Pop Got ‘Seoul’

If you’re into the Korean music scene, you know about SM Town. SM Town is an annual world tour made by the Korean pop company SM Entertainment. All of the recording artists perform in a six-hour long concert.

Their first concert was in Seoul, South Korea on August 21. They were in Los Angeles, California on September 4 and Shanghai, China on September 11. SM Town will be going to Tokyo, Japan in 2011.

For those of you who like Korean music, but don’t know who is in what company, the artists performing at SM Town will be: BoA, f(x), SNSD Girl’s Generation, Kangta, DBSK’s Maz and U-Know, SHINee, Super Junior, TRAX, Zhang Li Yin and The Grace as special guests.

Many people rushed to get tickets to the concert when tickets went on sale July 24, attendance being over 35,000. Ticket prices ranged from 40 dollars to 180 dollars, depending on seat location.

Many special performances were given, such as Jessica and Krystal Jung (sisters from two different groups, SNSD and f(x))  who performed a duet. Another popular duet was by SHINee’s Key with BoA. f(x) members Victoria and Luna performed ‘Over The Rainbow’ together, and Super Junior sang their latest single, ‘No Other’.

If you didn’t make it this year, look forward to next year’s SM Town! Every year new groups debut, so SM Town will be even bigger and better. Let’s wish these artists the best of luck with their careers!
