Say Hello to Badminton!

The pounding of balls has stopped from the gym as badminton has finally started. The season has been just gotten started with conditioning and practice everyday after school.

Senior Jordan Wong will lead the team this year as captain, “This year will hopefully be good. I want to lead the other kids with maturity and guidance. Badminton is my favorite sport and so far our team looks really strong.”

New in the sport Jeffrey Ge, “San Mateo is known for being strong at badminton. I hope that I can be top of the line and be one of the best around. I love to play badminton and will put in the hard work that is needed to win.”

Another new freshman Ben Chang, “I’ve never played badminton before, but it is a fun sport to play. I’m not really trying to go anywhere with badminton, but I still want to be good.”

A sophomore who is returning to the game is Tim Tam, “I hope to give guidance to the freshman this year as they are starting out new at this sport.”

The team has no games scheduled yet because of the season hasn’t gotten underway yet, but there will soon be must competition in the air. There are many expectations to fulfill as last year they had a successful season.  Hopefully they will have a repeat and get a great season.
