Track and Field Runs Santa Barbara

As spring break came to an end, the track and field team drove up to Santa Barbara for the annual Des Pueblos Invitational on April 8th.

The runners, hurdlers, and throwers arrived early on Saturday morning at April 9th at Des Pueblos High School for the invitational meet. Event after event, our team took home medals, personal records, and pride.“The meet was pretty cool because we did well,” Larry Campbell, a sophomore and sprinter and jumper said. He received gold and bronze medals for long jump, triple jump, hurdles, and the 4 by 100 relay.

“It was fun and different from the one I went to freshman year,” Kay Ueda , a junior and distance runner commented. He came in 3rd for his two-mile race.

The dedication the runners put in for the spring break practices earlier had paid off.

As their trip concluded the end of their spring break, the track and field team toured around the Santa Barbara beaches, nearby colleges, and landmarks. The meet was a great success and experience to the team.
