2013 DREAM Summer Internship

In a couple of months the air will get a little warmer and all over California students will be leaving school to take a well-needed and deserved summer vacation. Many students begin planning for their vacations months before to get prepared for a summer full of memories. For others, summer is a chance to catch up on schoolwork and get ahead. Looking for something productive to do this summer?

Internships, which are offered by employers to potential employees, give undergraduates an opportunity to work for a limited period of time. These internships vary; some are an amazing experience that could further your chances of your chosen career in the future.

The 2013 DREAM Summer National Internship Program for both continuing and emerging leaders in the immigrant rights movement, wishes adolescents to become, “involved to further develop their skills and meet fellow organizers from across the country”

This internship is open to ALL regardless of their legal status. Dream Summer interns become eligible for the $5,000 leadership award upon completion of the program on August 23. Due to the schedule of 9am-5pm Monday through Friday. Summer internships advise applicants to not take summer classes.

If you are deciding to fly out of California, have no worries. Locations vary from all throughout California, New York, Washington, Miami, Tucson and Denver. This internship lasts through June 17-August 23; Deadlines to apply is April 15th. With this internship comes an opening training retreat, which is mandatory to attend June 17-19 in Los Angeles and a closing retreat August 22-23 in Los Angeles as well, and DREAM Summer will cover your travel, meals and expenses for both retreats. It is understood that those who have not traveled before by plane are a little skeptical of traveling; the DREAM Summer Team will provide advice and guidelines on how to travel safely.

Learn new ways to create and to strengthen multi-generational social justice movements. Be part of the American DREAM.
