Softball Preview

This year’s softball season is expected to be a good one. Although the team has been losing their preseason games, they have been playing really experienced teams that are out of their league. The coach planned for them to play these tough teams to be prepared for the rest of the season, which is working out really well!

“This year we only have two seniors on the team but we are still very talented because the underclassmen have a lot of skill that we need and are really helping the team,” said senior Cristina Dressel. Even though the team lacks a lot of seniors, the team is still succeeding with the underclassmen, which means the teams in the future will be even better.  “I would say that we really improved from last year because we have a lot of speed and are able to catch all different types of balls. We are overall more athletic this year.”

Junior Gina Titus agreed, “Our only weakness this year is just knowing the best place to throw the ball after it’s caught. We need to be able to execute our plays a lot better. Other than that, the talent is amazing this year and the team really gets along with each other which makes it easier to work as a team.” Although last year there were a lot of upperclassmen, the team still has the same amount of talent and are ready to make the season very successful.

The softball team is expected to do really well this year so go out and support the team at some of their upcoming home games on April 10, April 12, and April 17!
