Swimming Update

It’s a new swimming season, and SMHS is now busy recruiting. The results are extraordinary so far: several boys have begun their first season on Feb 3, and the girl’s team size has doubled. Most of the new swimmers are freshmen, and their expectations are high.

“We had a great season last year and our girls team won the championship in PAL and several of them went to CCS,” said Andy Kwang, a sophomore. He has been swimming for one year before he joined the SMHS swim team.

Last year, the Girls swim team was undefeated and the swimmers are ready to defend their glory and have more teammates compete in CCS.

“This is going to big year for us, and we are prepared to do well,” said Jon Li, a rising star in varsity swim team. Swimming is a sport that takes time and commitment. And the SMHS Swim team is determined to win all their meets.

“We tried our best on our meet against Capuccino although we lost it,” said Jordan Weeks, a senior, “but I think we will be in fabulous shape for our next meets”. Currently, boy’s varsity is down by one loss; however, they are ready to catch up.

“We had a decent start on our first meet, and I believe that we will be greatly improved by the end of season, even though many difficult meets are waiting for us,” said Julia Hansen, a junior. The girl’s team won their meet on Feb 27 against Capuccino, and the teammates are optimistic about winning the rest of their meets.
