Volleyball Jumps Into Action at the Net

HENvolleyball

This year the volleyball teams are better than ever. Lets travel back to when the volleyball tryouts were and hear how they went. When asked how the tryouts were and their predictions for the season, Lexus Kato and Alexa Carreon, freshmen, on the JV team said, “The tryouts were very good. They pushed us to do our best and I think we will be very successful this season.”

Isabella Mauricio, senior, who is on the Varsity team, was asked the same questions and she said, “ The tryouts were very good and I think we will have really good season because everyone has improved from last year. Then I asked them if they feel that they will do better this year compared to other years and they said, “I think we will do very good because everyone has improved a lot from last year.”

The volleyball games are ongoing for the whole semester. There are many home games and I have good feeling that we will make it all the way!

So what is volleyball? Volleyball is a game with two teams consisting of 12 girls but a 6 on 6 formation on the court. The goal is to make the ball touch the ground on the other team’s side of the court. There are many different kinds of volleyball: indoor volleyball, outdoor volleyball, and beach volleyball.

If you are interested in playing volleyball next year there are summer clinics to help you prepare for the tryouts. It is never too late to get involved with the school and their amazing sports.

Based on the responses I have received, it seems that it will be an amazing year for our women’s teams! If you are a fan of volleyball, be sure to go to their games! They are very exciting!
