Pros of Prom

Prom. This one word has two different ways of being interpreted. On one hand, Prom is an exciting time for everyone involved. There are multiple things that make Prom a great event. For one, this dance is limited to upperclassmen specifically, which makes it more available for people to buy tickets without worrying that they will sell out as fast as other dances in the past. Speaking of tickets, Prom gives people a chance to really go all out when finding their date to Prom, due to the fact that there is a “Prom-posal” competition where contestants can post a photo or video of their proposal to the Facebook page. From there, a panel of judges will look through every entry and pick the best/cutest one, and the winners will receive two free tickets to Prom, or get their money back if they bought tickets prior to the judge’s decision.
Prom also gives girls a chance to go “all-out” with their dresses and accessories and other preparations needed for Prom. In fact, the preparations have already started. There is a Prom dress group on Facebook for girls to post pictures of their dresses as a way to prevent other girls from wearing the same dress to the dance. This group also gives girls a chance to give advice on other people’s dresses, like the color choice or anything the person posting the picture wants advice about.
Girls really enjoy Prom because they get to feel special for one night. They also get a chance to get their hair, makeup and nails done professionally in order to feel really special. Although girls are beautiful without makeup, getting a chance to feel exceptionally beautiful is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. Guys also get to go all out as well. They may end up buying a new tuxedo to match their date’s dress, and both girls and guys get to spend money on buying corsages and boutonnieres for their date.
Lastly, after Prom, people can be found going to after parties with their friends and spending even more time with the people they care about. They spend their whole night dancing and having fun with their friends, which adds on to why Prom is more unique than other dances. Prom is a rare opportunity for the upperclassmen, as there are only two opportunities to attend this exceptional dance throughout their high school years, unless they were invited to Prom as an underclassman.
Go to Prom, it’s a fun experience.
