Gossip Girl Lover Ms. Dong

img_0350

Ms. Dong is a new ELD counselor at SMHS.

Name: Erin Dong

Goals for the year: “I’m only here 2 days a week, so managing my time well so I can do transcript planning, meet with my students, see them in the classroom and just be visible and available for them. I want to help my seniors graduate on time and help my other students stay on track. A lot of my students are ELD and international so they have credits from out-of-country or maybe even out-of-state and having them stay on track because they come with a lot of credits too so you wanna put them in the right place.”

Why SMHS: “Well, I’m San Francisco so it’s a change of scenery you know? San Mateo is a great school; it reminds me of my old high school with a lot of spirit, very welcoming and a great community – very homey. Also the weather too!”

If you could be any celebrity who would you be: “I don’t know maybe Lucy Liu or someone?”

Favorite TV show: “Oh god this is going to sound horrible! I just finished Pretty Little Liars. I also watch Gotham, OITNB, GOT, The mindy Project and Modern Family. Gossip girl was my favorite TV show for 10 years! Now I really want to get into Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”

Favorite midnight snack: “Either ramen or one of those frozen ice creams bonbons from Trader Joe’s.”

Best dance move: “I like to do the shopping card one or the shuffling the cards one!”
