Things to do over Spring Break

Spring Break
Spring Break

Spring Break starts on April 1 and ends on April 9 where you would start school again on April 10. Between this 9 day period, there are a lot of places that you can visit or fun activities to do with your family. Ranging from amusement parks to reading books, your spring break can go to a highly educational and fun break for 9 days with these things to do.

A visit to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk can be perfect for a day trip as the beaches and amusement rides can give you a day full of fun. Taking an 85 minute drive, the park is open from 11am- 6pm on most weekends. Adding on with rides, there is an arcade to play in. They also include Laser Tag, Bowling, Mini Golf, and tons of food. Overall, the cost of this event might take about $150 depending on the size of the family.

Paintballing would be pretty fun in the spring break too. Only open from Friday to Sunday, Santa Clara Paintball offers a variety of fields with somewhat reasonable prices on rental equipment and paint. Open from 9 am to 5pm, you can drop in on any field to play with a group of people. A referee will then gather a show of hands for what kind of game mode the group would like to play such as capture the flag or elimination. You will then proceed into the field while being split up into two different teams. Paintball is a fun, sport-like  war game which mixes teamwork into itself.

Just a 3 hour drive away, Yosemite National Park is full of valleys, waterfalls, meadows, and sequoia trees. In spring, it’s said to be the perfect season for waterfalls. You can also hike through Yosemite Valley, Wawona and the Hetch Hetchy, are often snow free by April. Planning ahead is recommended to making reservations for lodging, camping, and backpacking as there are millions of people who visit Yosemite. Also planning for all the clothing needed and equipment such as tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and so on is needed.

Spring Break is a fun part of the year that is vacationing in the Spring. This is the only time of the year where there is a larger time quantity that allows for out of country traveling. The things that I have listed are just activities that I would like to do with my friends in my Spring Break. National Parks, Amusement parks, and fun activities should be filling up your vacation.
