John Aguilar: Ataque Rapido

“The Mini Show”

Art- it comes in many shapes, sizes, and forms, but what can be better than a piece that is no bigger than five by five inches? SMHS’s art classes, including drawing and photography have come together to bring “The Mini Show,” where you can have the artwork of all the students at your fingertips. The focus of this specific exhibit is the size of the pieces and the detail that is in them. Imagine having a story that tells itself in the palm of your hand. Starting November 28th, all bearcats and families are welcomed to visit the Art Studio;…

R&B Comeback

Some music never goes out of style. Rhythm and blues was thought to have been out of fashion when it went downhill back in the 2000s. But now, R&B is coming back with a bang. Artists like Khalid, Blackbear and Chris Brown are topping the Billboard Top 100 with songs like “Do Re Mi,” “Location” and “Questions.” How did rhythm and blues get its groove back?   During the 1990s, R&B hit an unparalleled popularity with hits from Boyz II Men and the likes of Destiny’s Child. Moving on to the 2000s, R&B lost its spark, losing artists like Beyonce…

Why Megapixels aren’t the Whole Picture

The question “how many megapixels does it have” is many people’s easiest way to judge whether or not a phone camera or DSLR is competitive or not. There are many different factors that can contribute to camera quality, megapixels being only one of them. A megapixel is made up of one million pixels, and the more megapixels a camera has, the more detail it produces, meaning a larger picture. But what use do megapixels have? And what else makes a camera good, or not? Think of megapixels as the size of a picture. For example, if there was a painting,…
