Should Confederate statues be taken down?

A lot of people who would automatically answer the question with a firm no, without considering perspective of the opposing side. I believe that the Confederate statues should stand. The figures symbolize a horrendous part of our history, but it is there to remind that these things should never happen. A nation that remembers is a nation that is great.
