Golf Goes Clubbing

If you wish to know which fall sport is most successful at SMHS, the answer will likely be girls’ golf. Winning the PAL Champion for past two years, our fabulous golf players even made it to CCS. “Golf is a sport that requires adequate amount of skill and takes a lot of practice to get better,” said Kristin Kanaya, the shining star of girls’ golf team. Pre-Season Track

As second semester comes, athletes can be seen running on the track in freezing temperatures, getting ready for the 2013 track season. These committed students meet two to three times a week in order to ensure they are one hundred percent ready to do the best they can during the actual season, which starts in late February. They don’t only run on the track, but also work out in the weight room because muscles can help a runner to sprint harder, a shot-putter to throw further, and a hurdler to jump higher.
