Cross Country Team Profile

Cross country crosses San Mateo’s runner’s minds as it comes into season. Fifteen dedicated runners come together to face against the other 16 schools in the district. It will be a 2.9 mile run up difficult hills and paths. The meet will be in Daly City on Thursday, September 11, 2014. Although Cross country is a great and fun sport it is “an indomitable sport,…

2013 Student Council Elections

Student council elections are one of the most nerve-racking times for students who are running for office. Many candidates spend hours and hours working hard and preparing. They don’t only run on the track, but also work out in the weight room because muscles can help a runner to sprint harder, a shot-putter to throw further, and a hurdler to jump higher. Different students have different reasons to why they…

The Track Team’s Last Stand

Track Runners Duke It Out

On April 29th, the San Mateo Track And Field team went to Aragon High School for a track meet. This was both teams’ final meet before championships, so the racers were getting their final training before the official competition. The meet was close, with Aragon winning about half of the races and San Mateo winning the other half, and the winner of the meet is not known yet. Both teams showed an incredible display of talent in their runners and should be proud of a successful track season. While not all of the people on the track team are going…
