Students Learn About Dreamers’ Experiences in San Francisco

  On February 1, students enrolled in Spanish classes had the opportunity to watch “In and Out of the Shadows,” play written by Gary Soto, in San Francisco and tour around the neighborhood murals. The theater performance showed the life of a “dreamer,” someone who did not have his or her citizenship papers. In the performance, there were diverse actors who illustrated the stereotypes of different cultures. APES at AGU Fall Meeting

Mr. Appleman’s AP Environmental classes attended the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting in San Francisco at the Moscone Center on Wednesday, December 5. The students learned from the over 20,000 scientists there who shared their research and projects, ranging from promotion of climate literacy to tsunami mitigation. At poster sessions, the students were able to speak with scientists representing universities and research centers from all over the world.
